How I Could Wake Up Your Financial Genius Effectively

Waking up the financial genius who is sleeping comfortably for quite sometime is surely not an easy task. I need an effective strategy, a master plan! My mother used to tell me how my grandmother woke her and her siblings with a full bucket of water – effective! Believe me, if I can do that to your sleeping financial genius, I would.

Awareness

Create financial literacy awareness.

All campaigns should begin with creating awareness. Without awareness, there won’t be openness and willingness, and there won’t be any progress. I am campaigning for financial literacy awareness. My definition of financial literacy is ability to get, to read and to use information to manage personal financial, which includes wise investing, saving, spending and protecting wealth.

My approach here is to tell you that you can, “You can, you can do it, you can have a better life, believe in yourself.” Look, when we afraid of something, we normally close our eyes, isn’t it? When I was small, I even pretended that I was sleeping so that the adults would carry me through dark jungle at night. Our financial genius is (pretending) sleeping because we are afraid to face the difficulties on the road to financial freedom. It is sleeping because we think that it is far easier to live life like ‘normal person’, like 95% of the people on earth (that the remaining 5% are not normal?), although we have to face financial problems every now and then. Wake-up!

From time to time, I would write about teaching our young ones personal financial, empowering them with financial literacy. Their mind is still learning curiously, lots of room to fill, and is as white as paper. Write wise things on that ‘paper’, especially the personal financial wisdoms. Learning financial literacy should begin as early as possible, as soon as possible, now.

Share some proven money-making ideas.

I am a believer of the ‘Law of Attraction’. It would be the main subject for the topics in ‘Money Idea’ category. In my own words, I will make you believe that money is just an idea – attract money by ideas. Those who has lots of money, has certainly good, if not genius, ideas how to make money, to keep money and to grow money.

This blog would be a half-full glass if I don’t include proven money-making ideas. I will interview successful entrepreneurs, and share their stories and advices with you. Additionally, I top up the interviews with other success stories, which I observed with my own eyes, heard and read.

Game Lesson

Explain how the financial geniuses play the money-game.

I would like to pass the message across that money is the fastest and the biggest game in the world. There are no spectators, all of us are players. We play or we being played upon. We are either good or average or bad players.

My approach here is to show how money game is played i.e. how the money flow from one hands to other hands. In general, my articles here would be on cash flow. I’ll write about reducing spending, increasing saving and investment and protecting wealth.

Winning Formula

Show applications of some money-math works.

Money idea and money game won’t be complete without money math. For example, investing without really knowing how much the cost involved could lead to loss. Money idea, money game and money math form what I called as a complete package of financial literacy.

My approach here is simple (it sounds simple but isn’t): show some real life calculations e.g. how to mathematically determine which loan to go for and which investment to invest, and how to calculate how much saving we could earn if we change from A to B. I encourage you to study and to calculate first before committing yourself into buying, selling, taking debt, saving and investing – use your logical thinking.

Remind you to appreciate and enjoy life.

This is what I always remind myself: don’t always think of money, money, money. Money isn’t everything although we do need money. There are many priceless things that money can’t buy e.g. the smiles of your love ones and watching your children grow. Don’t miss those priceless moments. Similarly, do not always think of have fun, be happy, have fun, be happy. Be a balanced rich person.
